In this Video, Dr. Sanjay Biyani, Academic Director, Biyani Group of Colleges, tells us about the basic difference in the attitude of people who only do their duties, and people who are happy to take on additional responsibilities. Dr. Biyani says that ‘Duty’ smells of Servant-Master relationship, and ‘Responsibility’ speaks of a sense of ownership. The basic characteristics of a Responsible person are: He/She is not time-bound, nor money oriented, but is work oriented, courageous, solution-provider, and lively. As HRM professionals should be able to differentiate between these two types of employees, to be able to deal with them effectively.
