In this Video, Dr.Abhishek Baldwa explains the process of Indian monsoon. The word monsoon is derived from the Arabian word’ Mausim’ it means seasonal reversal in the wind direction. In India, there is a seasonal change in the direction of the winds that blow from the Arabian sea and the Bay of Bengal. The Arabian geographer Al Masoodi was the first to study monsoon. Number of theories of the origin of Indian monsoon but the Jet Stream Theory was the most popular theory. This theory was propounded by Yest. The Indian meteorologist Koteshwaram has also done work in this direction.
