India is a Parliamentary democracy. Governor is nominal executive and chief minister is the real executive. The chief minister is appointed by the Governor and council of minister is appointed by the Governor on the advice of chief minister. The chief minister performs various functions like appointment of council of minister, head of council of ministers, gives advice to governor regarding appointment of various dignitaries. He is the political head of civil services and gives information to Governor about state affairs.
