The lecture includes general about electrophoresis technique and its basic principals. The technique is specifically described for the separation of DNA molecules of different sizes. The technique is based on the principal that the charged molecules separate depending upon their charge to mass ratio. Further its procedure involves gel preparation in TE buffer, Solidification of gel and loading of sample and finally the visualization of DNA bands in UV illuminator.
